Ayalim in Action

In 1953, the first Israeli prime minister moved to live in the Negev, telling young people that their mission is to develop Israel's Periphery. More than 50 years later, the Negev and the Galilee are still yearning for development.

Ayalim Association was founded in order to face this challenge.

The young men and women of Ayalim are building student villages in disadvantaged communities throughout Israel’s north and south.

While realizing Zionist dreams of building the land and creating communities, the Ayalim students also work with thousands of kids and become a moving force for change.

Today, there are 700 students living in 13 Ayalim student villages in the Negev and the Galilee, working with 20,000 kids and at-risk youth.

Upon graduation, the overwhelming majority of Ayalim's students choose to make their permanent home in the Negev and the Galilee.
